The2022 FIFA World Cup starts Sunday, Nov. 20 and runs through Sunday, Dec. 18. And since many of us probably aren’t hopping on a 15-hour flight to Qatar, we’re highlighting some local sports bars where Portlanders can take in all the blood, sweat, and tears from right here in Rose City.
It’s already no surprise that fútbol is actual life for soccer fans in Portland — thanks to the Thorns and Timbers for giving us one heck of a season this year — but with the heat of local games behind us, we’re turning to them to get the ball rolling.
Did you know that both the Thorns and Timbers have pub partnerships with Grand Central Bowl & Arcade? This upscale bowling lounge boasts plenty of TVs and opens at noon on weekends, making it a perfect spot to hunker down and catch some World Cup matches.
Keep in mind that severalmatches will be broadcast on FOX, FOXsports.com, and Telemundo every day of the week and as early as 1 a.m. PST.
Here are four additional sports bars in Portland decked out with TVs and game-day grub to bring your watch party to life.
Home is where the heart is — the heart of all things sports and beer, that is.

THE WRAP
Today’s issue was written by Ashlea.
Editor’s pick: I’m not a huge soccer fan, but if I were, my go-to place in Portland to watch the FIFA World Cup would be The Sports Bra, which opens at 11 a.m. and prides itself on creating a space to empower women in sports and the community — not to mention it has a more inclusive menu than your traditional sports bar grub.
It’s also an official pub partner of the Thorns, which sounds like its got to be a place to have a dang good time.
