Portland is starting to get its first looks at the Hillsboro Hops’ new $150 million ball park/music venue. New renderings show that the stadium includes three full-sized kitchens, a club lounge with upscale food options, and an intentional northeastern orientation that will keep every one of the 6,000 shaded. The park is expected to open within a year. (Portland Business Journal)
Real Estate
The 26-acre farm featured on TLC’s show “Little People, Big World” is now on the market for just under $3 million. The stars of the show, the Rolofts, purchased the home in 1989, but have since completed several renovations that now leave the home with five bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, a pool + hot tub, and a play castle. Sports
Things are certainly shaking up at Portland Trail Blazers’ offices — the team has decided not to renew the contracts of three assistant coaches. Why and what will this mean for next season? Get the biggest stories every day from the local experts of the Trail Blazers with Locked On’s daily podcasts.
Environment
Woodn’t you know? Portland’s Friends of Trees just planted their millionth tree since launching in 1989. The tree given the honor was a silver leaf oak, a species native to the southwestern US and Mexico as a nod to the PNW’s hotter + drier temperatures brought on by climate change. It can be found next to Friends of Trees’ headquarters in Irvington. (The Oregonian)

A new speakeasy has landed in an unexpected location — the Portland Airport. Located before airport security, Aurora is a full step into a technicolor world that looks a little like it belongs in a 1970s space show. Expect cocktails like the Diamond Tooth, a fancy slushie-type cocktail for fans of the lemon drop, and the ramen-inspired Good Soup with its bone broth + Wild Turkey whiskey. (Eater Portland)

I’m trying to decide how I would feel if someone took me to that new airport speakeasy on a date. On one hand, I do like an eclectic little adventure. But I like eclectic little adventures too much and would likely say yes if they suggest getting on whatever flight takes off next just for fun — especially after a few cocktails.
But maybe that’s just excellent planning by the airport.
