They know how to make smart money moves, and so do you. That’s why you’ll love this.

Masterworks is a platform that helps you invest in multi-million dollar art by names like Basquiat and Picasso — yep, the very same artists in their collections — for a fraction of the cost.

Not convinced? Masterworks investors enjoyed three recent sales where they earned 10.4%, 13.9%, and 35.0% net annualized returns — AKA real numbers, real returns.*

News Notes

Today Is
  • Memorial Day, honoring U.S. military personnel who died in the line of duty. It is a federal holiday, meaning civic offices, most state offices, banks, and public libraries will be closed. Observe the day with one of the many ceremonies or flyovers taking place around the Portland metro area. (KOIN)
Health
  • Portland Public Schools (PPS) will receive 3,500 new air purifiers from the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) next month. Roughly a quarter of PPS elementary and middle school classrooms reportedly failed to meet OHA’s minimum recommendations for air quality and ventilation last year. (The Oregonian/Oregon Live)
Active
  • You won’t need to travel to far-flung destinations to find a new disc golf course. Clark County opened its first 18-hole disc golf course last week at Hockinson Meadows Community Park. Before you jump in the car and head to Vancouver, print the course’s corresponding scorecard and map. (KOIN)
Environment
  • Every October, Portland-based nonprofit Solar Oregon hosts “Oregon’s largest annual zero-energy homes tour” to inspire people to save on energy costs while living more sustainably. Submit your own zero-energy residential project (remodel, single family, duplex/triplex, townhome, ADU, or tiny home) by Sunday, June 18, to be considered for the tour.
Drink
  • Celebrate rosé all day and rub elbows with former Trail Blazer CJ McCollum on Saturday, June 3. McCollum is hosting a free meet-and-greet at Adelsheim Vineyard in Newberg to promote the release of his third McCollum Heritage 91 wine — a 2022 rosé made with pinot noir grapes.

From the editor
Today, I’m remembering an uncle I never had the chance to meet: LCpl Timothy Caldwell served in the Marine Corps and was killed in Vietnam on Sept. 1, 1967. He was 19.

Thank you to all the brave men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
