Data from Portland’s heat mapping tool will help city and county leaders make decisions to protect people from potentially fatal temperatures in the future. The project, the largest study of its kind in the world, shows how heat is experienced differently across our region. (KOIN)

Blossoming Lotus, one of Portland’s longest-tenured vegan spots, has folded for good. Fans flocked to show their love and say goodbye, causing the restaurant to run out of food (and close) a day earlier than planned. Kids
The Portland Finnish school will host Mimmit music group at Nordic Northwest on Sunday, April 28. The family-friendly concert will feature songs in English and Finnish from the band’s two sisters, who have performed together for 15 years. Tickets range from $5 to $15 and doors open at 1 p.m.

According to a report from Coworking Mag, 23.3% of the Portland metro area workforce is remote — the fifth highest in the western US region. We’re just over a month out from Portland Sunday Parkways, but we can already feel (and hear?) the excitement.
The Portland Bureau of Transportation announced this summer it will partner with Boom Bike PDX, a pedal-powered mobile soundstage that can carry up to 500 pounds of cargo to bring live music to the people.
On May 19 in East Portland, June 16 in Northeast Cully, and Sept. 22 in Southwest Portland, event organizers will transform stretches of the neighborhoods into car-free zones, inviting the community to get outside and ride (or walk) and engage with fellow residents and local businesses.
SoundsTruck NW and Make Music Day PDX will also be set up at parks along the routes.
