In our opinion, brunch is always a good idea. Whether it’s biscuits and gravy at Mother’s Bistro & Bar or a sandwich at Fried Egg I’m In Love, the mashup of breakfast and lunch is something we hold very close to our hearts.
Fortunately for us, Portland is home to plenty of brunch options. Here are some we keep going back to (and think you will, too).

What local food carts fly under the radar?
Villa Angel Taqueria’s birria is a fan favorite. | Photo by Raynaldo Maestas
Villa Angel Taqueria — “There should be a line to eat at this cart. From his Halibut Bowl to his QuesaBirra, it’s all outstanding. This is not a traditional Mexican food cart.”
Farmer and the Beast — “Best smash burgers, Beast of the Sea [made with] albacore, and new spring bowl”
Beachcombing is one of my favorite things to do when I visit the coast, but the treasures I’ve collected pale in comparison to the fossils recently discovered by two people on Oregon beaches. The fragments of teeth and jawbone are thought to be from hippo-like creatures that roamed the area between 21 and 23 million years ago.
