This week, Literary Arts revealed the winners of the 2024 Oregon Book Awards at a ceremony in Portland. Of the 37 finalists, seven authors were honored for their works spanning the genres of fiction, poetry, nonfiction, youth, and graphic literature. Not to brag on our city’s literary prowess… but all of the winning authors live right here in the City of Roses.

- Stafford/Hall Award for Poetry — Daniela Naomi Molnar, “CHORUS”
- Eloise Jarvis McGraw Award for Children’s Literature — Nora Ericson and Elly MacKay, “Too Early”
- Leslie Bradshaw Award for Middle Grade and Young Adult Literature — Waka T. Brown, “The Very Unfortunate Wish of Melony Yoshimura”
- Award for Graphic Literature (Biennial) — Kerilynn Wilson, “The Faint of Heart”
