The starting whistle has sounded on the construction of the Portland Thorns’ and future WNBA team’s new joint training facilities. The ~$150 million state-of-the-art facility in Hillsboro will include two full size basketball courts, two full-sized soccer pitches, dedicated dressing rooms for both teams, and a dining room with a full-time chef. Development
A fancy new public market, much like Seattle’s Pike Place, is coming to Vancouver, WA. The Port of Vancouver started laying groundwork in the Terminal 1 development for the new 40,000-sqft shopping center and says it has about 30% of the design work completed. Construction is expected to begin in early 2027 with a 2028 completion date. (KGW + Portland Business Journal)

Despite some recent rainfall gaps, the entire state of Oregon is officially drought-free — hooray! The data from the US Drought Monitor shows that the state has been this way since mid-March. This is the first time since 2019 that no part of Oregon was experiencing abnormally dry conditions. (KOIN)
