Welcome to our neck of the woods. Portland’s 75-ft Christmas tree arrived in Pioneer Courthouse Square this week after a 40-mile journey from Timber. Over the coming weeks, the tree will be decked in 10,000+ lights ahead of the tree lighting on Friday, Nov. 28. (KATU 2)

The Thayer Family Foundation Veterans Shelter will open in North Portland in December. The 17-bed shelter will offer support for veterans in recovery who are on the path to permanent housing. (KGW 8)
