Some people make to-do lists — we make to-dine lists. Many hot new Portland restaurants have opened over the past several months, serving everything from pub nachos to chicken shawarma.

To satisfy those who are really hungry for fresh dining options, we’ve got details on several more Rose City restaurants coming soon, too. Grab your forks as we dig right in.

Newly open

Yaowarat , 7937 SE Stark St. | Thai Chinese | Reservations: No

This highly anticipated project from Akkapong Earl Ninsom (of Eem, Hat Yai, and Langbaan acclaim) takes guests’ taste buds on a tour of the bustling streets of Bangkok’s Chinatown. Dishes like the mapo tofu and the crispy egg noodle come peppery and piquant.

L’ Orange , 2005 SE 11th Ave. | Mediterranean | Reservations: Yes

You can fill your glass (and your soul) with French Riviera vibes at this “winery restaurant” in the former Willow space. Expect to pair entrees like sturgeon or braised ribs with expertly selected vinos.

Câche Câche , 1015 SE Stark St. | Seafood | Reservations: Yes

Nestled like a pearl in the back of Threshold Brewing, this small kitchen emphasizes sustainability. Share oysters on a half shell or dig in solo to a lobster roll — no one will judge.

Montelupo SE , 1613 SE Bybee Blvd. | Italian | Reservations: No

When the Northeast Portland pasta purveyor expanded to Sellwood, it planted its focaccia flag in our hearts (and stomachs). Grab a square or two (our favorite has Italian sausage, broccolli rabe, and hot honey) and shop the small market afterward.

Queen Mama’s Kitchen , 406 SW Oak St. | Saudi Arabian | Reservations: No

From Hillsboro food cart to a downtown Portland debut, this eatery’s Middle Eastern flavors will make your mouth water. The saleeg special (a traditional chicken and rice dish) is a must-order if you visit on Thursday.

Xiao Ye , 3832 NE Sandy Blvd. | First-generation American food | Reservations: Yes

Inspired by midnight snacks enjoyed with loved ones, this Hollywood District creates an intimate experience where the food is prepared right in front of you (if you’re lucky to get a seat at the counter).

Gracie’s Apizza , 7304 N. Leavitt Ave. | Wood-fired pizza | Reservations: No

In a city of delicious pies, the toppings in Chef/Owner Craig Melillo’s toolbelt are remarkable — and the shaved apples and aged manchego are sublime. We’re just thankful he decided to reopen his operation in a new space where everyone can stretch out.

The menu is always fresh with new recipes at Gracie’s Apizza.

Coming soon

TPK Brewing Co. , 5051 SE Hawthorne Blvd. | Craft beer + Latin American | Reservations: No

An unexpected shake up to this tabletop game tavern’s food partner was worked out ahead of its opening on Saturday, Oct. 28. Now, En Vida will fuel daring RPG quests with fare from Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, and more.

Bellpine , 812 SW Washington St. |New American | Reservations: Yes

When the Ritz Carlton finally opens on Tuesday, Oct. 31, our eyes will be on how the hotel’s 20th floor restaurant incorporates local PNW ingredients in its globally inspired menu. Oh, and the view of course.

Baker’s , 2500 SE Clinton St. | Pub fare | Reservations: No

Shooting for a Nov. 3 opening, this upcoming bar will set up in the former La Moule space, offering up hearty nachos, burgers, and spicy chicken sandwiches to go with cocktail standards.

Annam VL , 3336 SE Belmont St. | Vietnamese | Reservations: No

The family behind Rose VL Deli and Ha VL are opening a third restaurant on Southeast Belmon Street, serving classic Vietnamese soups and more specific regional recipes and street food. Stay tuned to its Instagram for opening updates.

Flour Bloom , 103 NE Grand Ave. | New York Italian-style bakery | Reservations: No

We’re licking our lips at the thought of delicious sandwiches and cookies. The space is designed to put a smile on your face; join the grand opening on Nov. 15.
