Tigard’s Festival of Balloons

Up, up, and away to family fun

A red, white and blue hot air balloon rises in the morning sky just above a crowd of people

Every year, Tigard’s Cook Park hosts the Festival of Balloons, and even when gusty conditions ground hopes to see the colorful craft in full flight, attendees are still treated to a candlestick glow (igniting the burner without the envelope attached) and some tethered rides.

There was also a carnival with live music, absolutely enormous corn dogs, and plenty of vendors. The event helps raise money for local nonprofitsin 2019, it raised $50,000 for American Cancer Society, Meals on Wheels, and more.
