Every year, Tigard’s Cook Park hosts the Festival of Balloons , and even when gusty conditions ground hopes to see the colorful craft in full flight, attendees are still treated to a candlestick glow (igniting the burner without the envelope attached) and some tethered rides.

There was also a carnival with live music, absolutely enormous corn dogs, and plenty of vendors. The event helps raise money for local nonprofitsin 2019, it raised $50,000 for American Cancer Society, Meals on Wheels, and more. Keep an eye on PDXtoday’s Instagram for more sights from the festivities.
