This week, Literary Arts revealed the winners of the 2024 Oregon Book Awards at a ceremony in Portland. Of the 37 finalists , seven authors were honored for their works spanning the genres of fiction, poetry, nonfiction, youth, and graphic literature. Not to brag on our city’s literary prowess … but all of the winning authors live right here in the City of Roses.

- Stafford/Hall Award for Poetry — Daniela Naomi Molnar, “CHORUS”
- Eloise Jarvis McGraw Award for Children’s Literature — Nora Ericson and Elly MacKay, “Too Early”
- Leslie Bradshaw Award for Middle Grade and Young Adult Literature — Waka T. Brown, “The Very Unfortunate Wish of Melony Yoshimura”
- Award for Graphic Literature (Biennial) — Kerilynn Wilson, “The Faint of Heart”
