The Portland Trail Blazers offer trailblazing tech for blind fans

The Trail Blazers are the first professional sports venue to offer OneCourt devices to fans who are blind and low vision.

Two fans in bold team jerseys cheer during a Trail Blazers game. One fan has the OneCourt Pilot 2 on their lap with their hands lightly touching the device. Cotton candy and the other spectators in the background highlight the lively game-day setting.

The Portland Trail Blazers are trailblazing with unique tech that enables fans who are blind and have low vision to follow the game.

Paralympic athlete and content creator Anthony Ferraro recently showed off tech from Seattle-based startup OneCourt. The haptic display board works by using tactile vibrations that let the user follow the ball across the court, while audio keeps them updated on the score.

How to get set up with a OneCourt device

Trail Blazer fans can pick up their OneCourt tablets at the Moda Center for free.

  • Reserve a device with Guest Services by emailing guest.experience@trailblazers.com or calling (503) 235-8771.
  • Pick up your device from a Guest Information Booth at entries A7, A23, or C33.
  • At your seat, plug the headphones into the board and follow the audio instructions.

Forgot to reserve a device ahead of time? No worries — the venue leaves two available upon request on game day. More info is available online.
