U-Haul — the moving truck company that started in Ridgefield, WA — has released its 2024 mid-year report on migration trends, tracking the origins of U-Haul trucks arriving in the 25 most populated cities in the US, including Portland. Let’s take a look at who’s moved into our city from where — and if you’re new around here, we’ve got even more to share.
The moving trends
So, where are folks coming from? According to U-Haul, here are the top three metropolitan areas outside our state that people are moving to Portland from:
- Seattle, WA (oh hey, SEAtoday)
- Los Angeles, CA
- Phoenix, AZ
