Get ready to fill up your reusable shopping bags with fruits and veggies, Portlanders. In the spirit of supporting all things local, we’ve rounded up 16 farmers markets in the Portland area where you’ll find fresh food, live music, and local vendors.

Through Double Up Food Bucks, when shoppers with an Oregon Trail Card spend $20, they can have it matched with an additional $20 in SNAP dollars at various locations. Inquire with each market for details.

PSU Farmers Market | Saturdays, year-round | 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • Features: Peak summer season can see 10,000 visitors and as many as 100 vendor stalls
  • Parking: On-street parking (three locations with ADA-accessible spots) and nearby garages
  • Space: Outdoors, under canopy of elm trees
  • Special events: Spring Wellness Fair | Saturday, April 22 | 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m.

Note: November to March, hours are 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

Hollywood Farmers Market | Saturdays, year-round | 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • Features: Browse 50+ vendors and bring the kids for fun activities; both dog and dog-free hours are offered
  • Parking: Street parking
  • Space: Outdoors

Note: Hours are 9 a.m.-1 p.m. October and November, while markets December-March are on the first and third Saturdays of the month.

St. Johns Farmers Market | Saturdays, May 6-Oct. 28, 2023 | 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • Features: More than 50 vendors, including Arthur’s Gourmet Mushrooms, Solstice Flower Works, Kulfi, and PDX Peppers
  • Parking: Street parking
  • Space: Outdoors

Sellwood Moreland Farmers Market | Saturdays, May 13-Oct. 30, 2023 | 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • Features: Search for local products from local distillers, artists, bakers, and more
  • Parking: Customer parking at Wells Fargo
  • Space: Outdoors

Note: This is the second season at its new location; it had to move from its previous locations due to development on the lots.

Rocky Butte Farmers Market | Saturdays, June-September | 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • Features: Non-profit market aims to “lower barriers to market participation for beginning and under-represented vendors” and “strengthen connections within our diverse community”
  • Parking: On-site parking
  • Space: Outdoors

Note: The closest bus stop is Bus 24, at Northeast Fremont Street + 88th Avenue.

Woodlawn Farmers Market | Saturdays, June-October, 2023 | 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • Features: Educational programming about nutrition, gardening, cooking, and environmental sustainability
  • Parking: Street parking

Montavilla Farmers Market | Sundays, year-round | 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • Features: A grassroots group has created a welcoming space for 92 booths since 2007
  • Parking: Nearby street parking

  • Special events: Thursdays on the Plaza occurs July–September (4-7 p.m.) nearby at Southeast 79th Avenue and Stark Street

Note: In December, the market opens the first and third Sundays and the second and fourth Sundays, January through April.

Hillsdale Farmers’ Market | Sundays, year-round | 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

  • Features: Hosts 50 farmers and food artisans from Oregon and Southwest Washington
  • Parking: Parking at Rieke Elementary School and nearby streets
  • Space: Outdoors

Note: The market is bi-weekly during the winter (December-April).

King Farmers Market | Sundays, May 7–Nov. 19, 2023 | 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • Features: Seating for breakfast and lunch options from 30 farmers and food artisans plus live music

Note: It’s located one block from the Alberta Arts District.

Woodstock Farmers Market | Sundays, June-October, 2023 | 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • Features: Spots for 44 vendors in the KeyBank parking lot
  • Parking: Free street parking

Lents International Farmers Market | Sundays, June 4–Nov.19, 2023 | 9 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • Features: Every week approx. 800 neighborhood residents (referred to as “Lentils”) shop 14 local and culturally relevant vendors
  • Parking: Free on-street and bike parking available, nearby TriMet bus and MAX routes

  • Special events: Tastings and recipe demonstrations, food-related workshops, cultural and seasonal celebrations

Note: Kids ages 3 -12 can participate in fun educational activities, hands-on cooking, tastings, and interactive games with the Market Scouts program, June–November, 9 a.m. –2 p.m.

Come Thru Black & Indigenous Market | First and third Mondays, May-October, 2023 | 3-7 p.m.

  • Features: Incubator market centered around Black and Indigenous farmers/makers that supports BIPOC small-business owners
  • Parking: Free on-street parking
  • Space: Indoors at The Redd on Salmon Street

Note: People of color, including immigrants and refugees, are invited to the Farmer Training Program.

OHSU Farmers Market | Tuesdays, June-mid September, 2023 | 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • Features: Your mouth will water over hummus, fresh-pressed juice, jam, and more locally produced goods
  • Parking: Limited street parking; public transit, biking, or walking is encouraged
  • Space: Outdoors

Note: The market is held on the lawn in front of Mackenzie Hall.

People’s Farmers’ Market | Wednesdays, year-round | 2-7 p.m. (hours may change at short notice)

  • Features: Sells artisan foods made using organic, local, and ethically sourced ingredients
  • Parking: Free street parking
  • Space: Outdoors

Note: Founded in 1994, it’s the longest-running year-round market in Portland.

Shemanski Park Farmers Market | Wednesdays, May 3–Oct. 25, 2023 | 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

  • Features: Founded in 1998, now features 30+ booths that draw downtown residents, office workers, tourists, and local chefs
  • Parking: On-street parking and SmartPark Garages
  • Space: Outdoors, underneath tree canopy
  • Special events: Harvest Festival | Nov. 22 | 8 a.m.–5 p.m.

Note: The market is celebrating its 25th anniversary with occasional produce tastings, live music, and activities for all ages.

Kenton Farmers Market | Wednesdays, June 7–Sept. 27, 2023 | 3-7 p.m.

  • Features: Festive street fair atmosphere in the heart of a growing business district
  • Parking: Free on-street and bike parking available
  • Space: Outdoors
  • Special events: Tastings and recipe demonstrations, food-related workshops, cultural and seasonal celebrations

Note: The MAX Yellow Line stops one block away at the Kenton/North Denver Avenue Station.

South Waterfront Farmers Market | Thursdays, June-October | 2-7 p.m.

  • Features: Friendly dogs and well-trained owners are welcome at this market where vendors are selected by strict guidelines
  • Parking: Two-hour street parking
  • Space: Outdoors

Note: Winter hours 10 a.m.-2 p.m. occur on the second Thursday of November and December.
