From U-pick tree farms to handy urban lots, the Portland area has no shortage of places to buy fresh Christmas trees. We put together a list of locations to choose from — and included a bonus option for anyone pining for an adventure.

Cut your own tree at a local farm

Christmas Mountain Choose and Cut, 25470 NW Dixie Mountain Rd., Scappoose
Make a reservation to visit this tree farm specializing in noble firs. There’s plenty to do, with hot drinks, a gift shop, handmade wreaths, and wagon rides, as well as two very special guests from the North Pole on weekends.

Furrow Farm, 25877 NW West Union Rd., Hillsboro
Several different kinds of fir trees are offered here as well as mistletoe, wreaths, garlands, tree stands, ornaments, and locally made candles. Plus, meet some special animals while you’re there.

Lee Farms, 21975 SW 65th Ave., Tualatin
Choose a pre-cut tree or wander this farm’s U-cut field to pick one out, then have it cut, shaken, baled, and loaded onto your car. Tree flocking and tree stands are also available.

Plumper Pumpkin Patch and Tree Farm, 11435 NW Old Cornelius Pass Rd.
Choose your own tree, take home a wreath with a custom bow, make a s’more at the fire pit, feed the farm animals, and watch pumpkin donuts being made (then try one — or several, no one’s judging).

Quail Creek Ranch Christmas Trees, 9949 NW Kaiser Rd.
This 20-acre farm has been offering trees since 1985 and has hot cocoa and a fire pit to warm up guests on chilly days. Stock is limited this year, so be sure to check online or give them a call before your visit.

Keep it simple + buy from a lot

Nob Hill Christmas Trees, 2034 NW 26th Ave.
Order online, then pick up your tree in person at one of two locations. Or for an extra $25, have your tree delivered to your home in the Nob Hill, Pearl District, PSU, or South Waterfront areas.

Feeling more adventurous?

Get a permit to hunt and cut your own holiday tree in the Mt. Hood National Forest. Each permit is $5 (plus a $2.50 fee if purchased here) and allows you to cut a tree up to 15 ft tall. Permits are also available at several local businesses.
