Toast of the town: Drink Up Week has arrived

This week — Monday, July 22-Friday, July 26, 2024 — we’re shining a spotlight on the vibrant drink scene in Portland.

Two hands clink their glasses containing red- and peach-colored liquids. One glass features a city skyline and the name "Portland," while the other reads "PDXtoday."

Cheers — Drink Up Week is back.

Drink Up Week is finally here and we have a feeling it’ll be the toast of the town.

Here’s the tea — today through Friday, July 26, we’re celebrating the entrepreneurs, mixologists, venues, and beverages that make Portland go ‘round.

As you know, we’ve created an interactive map of can’t-miss deals offered by local businesses in the Rose City. Here are the top deals our PDXtoday editors have their eyes on — and what they plan to pair with these drinks.

A map of Portland has icons representing beverages across the city.

Drink deals here, drink deals there.

City Editor Ben has eyes for the Smoked Serrano Michelada beer cocktail at Stormbreaker Brewing in St. Johns. That kind of spice goes well with the summer heat we’ve been having — and the Portland Pyre Pile burger, loaded with pimento cheese and mojo sauce. If you’re making a night of it, might as well stick around and throw some axes.

As someone with a notorious penchant for sampling whatever her friends and family order in her presence, City Editor Cambrie will be taking advantage of the “Fill a Tray” deal at The Brew in Gladstone. You get four 16-ounce coffees or smoothies for $15 — so you can treat your loved ones (and they pay a small fee of granting you a sip).

We hope you enjoy sipping your way through our city this week. Cheers to you and happy Drink Up Week, Portlanders.
