The effort will help revitalize eight state parks, but the ongoing construction will result in full or partial closures through 2026.

Heading to a state park soon? You’ll want to double check for closures. Oregon has invested $50 million sourced from GO Bonds for construction that will revitalize eight state parks through 2026.

GO Bonds have given many projects the green light, and two local state parks will be impacted by closures starting Monday, Sept. 16:

  • Silver Falls will close its campgrounds (except a handful of cabins) through June 30, 2025, to repave A Loop and replace the B Loop bathroom. All other park facilities will remain open.
  • Milo McIver will close its campgrounds and hiker/biker areas through March 2025 for repaving and to refurbish a restroom building. Day-use areas will remain accessible.

More construction projects will commence later this year and into 2025, including improvements to Nehalem Bay and Fort Stevens state parks.
